A New Leadership Program for High School
Athletes Internship Connection
announces an exciting collaboration with The
Center for the Study of Sport in Society, housed
at Northeastern University. In previous years,
athletes from many colleges in Boston have
served as mentors in Sport in Society's Urban
Youth Sports Program. Now, high school athletes
have the unique opportunity to participate in a
part-time summer internship program where they
will serve as role models for urban youth in the
Community Centers of Boston. Students will
become assistant teachers involved in reading
and tutoring, health education, and activities
that foster self-esteem in young girls and boys.
